Concentrix (Review) – Concentrix is a virtual call center. As an associate you would be helping customers for various clients with their customer service needs. Part time hours are 20-29 per week. Pay is reported to start in the $9-$14/hr. range.
**Alorica (Review) – Alorica is another company that hires associates to handle customer service calls from home. Must work a minimum of 10 hours per week. They offer a semi-flexible schedule. Pay is reported to start at around $9 per hour.
Writing/Editing
**Proofreading Pal (Review) – Proofreading Pal hires professional proofreaders to proofread and edit many types of documents. The work is very flexible. To be considered you must be a student with a 3.5 or higher GPA or have a graduate degree with five years’ experience. Pay varies per assignment.
**Scribbr – Scribbr hires editors to edit academic papers. Must have a bachelor’s degree, previous experience editing academic papers and be able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week. Pay is $20-$25 per hour.
**BKA Content (Review)– BKA content hires writers to write web content, product descriptions and more. Must be willing to write at least 2,000 words per week. During training pay is $8 – $14 per hour but can increase to $12 to $18 per hour.
**Verblio – Verblio contacts writers to write blog posts for several businesses. Pay starts at $10.50 for a 300-400-word article.
**Online Writing Jobs – Online Writing Jobs contracts writers for several different assignments. Pay ranges from $15-$50 per article.
Virtual Assisting
Belay Solutions (Review)– Duties may include maintaining calendar, managing email, data entry, and more. Mut have five years’ experience in an admin role. For this job you’ll be required to work a minimum of 10 hours per week and will need to be available M-F during business hours. Pay varies based on position and experience.
Contemporary Virtual Assistance (Review) – Contemporary Virtual Assistance hires virtual assistants to help with clients’ marketing, small business, and online needs. Pay is $10 per hour.
Zirtual (Review) – Zirtual hires virtual assistants to assistant clients with several online tasks. Must have an associate degree or higher and 1-year admin experience. They offer part-time positions. Starting pay is $13-$18 per hour.
Captioning/Transcription
**3PlayMedia – 3PlayMedia hires contractors to transcribe and edit audio-based transcription. Work is very flexible. Pay is $10-$30 per hour, depending on efficiency.
**AI Media (Review) – AI Media hires contractors to caption both live and prerecorded videos. Pay ranges from $27-$42 per audio hour. Your hourly wage will depend upon your speed and accuracy.
**Rev (Review)- Rev hires beginner transcriptionists and has a “work when you want” type of model which is why it falls on the list of part time work from home jobs. Pay is .40 – .70 per audio minute for transcriptionists and $5-$8 per minute for subtitlers. Your pay will depend upon your accuracy and speed.
**TranscribeMe (Review)– TranscribeMe hires beginner transcriptionists and has a “work when you want” model based on the amount of work they have available. Average pay is $15-$22 per audio hour. Your pay will depend upon your speed and accuracy.
Search Engine and Social Media Evaluation
**Appen – Appen hires contractors to evaluate both search engine results and social media pages, ads, and more. Jobs and hours vary. Pay is reported to be around $12 per hour.
**Lionbridge – Lionbridge hires for a variety of roles include ad assessor, rater, map quality analyst, and web content assessor. Pay is reported to be around $14 per hour.
Teaching/Tutoring
**VIP Kid (Review) – VIPKid is a company that connects English Second Language teachers to Chinese students wanting to learn English. The hours are flexible and starting pay ranges from $14-$22/hour. You need a bachelor’s degree (any field) to apply. VIPKid supplies all teaching materials.
**Magic Ears (Review)– Magic Ears connects English Second Language teachers to Chinese students, ages 4-12. To become a Magic Ears teacher, you will need a bachelor’s degree or to be a student currently enrolled in college. Starting pay is $18-$22 per hour. Magic Ears supplies all teaching materials.
**Nice Talk (Review)– Nice Talk is an English Second Language app in which native English speakers have conversations with Chinese students to help them practice their English. Applicants with IELTS/TOEFL teaching experience or TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certification are preferred. Pay is $10/hr.
**SayABC (Review)– SayABC is another company that hires contractors to teach ESL to children all over the world. Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not mandatory. Base pay starts at $15/hr. with incentives for attendance.
**Cambly – Cambly is a company that pays tutors to video chat with students who need help practicing their English. No previous experience necessary. Pay is $10.20 per hour.
**Student Tutor (Review) – Student Tutor contracts college students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and recent grads to Tutor in ACT/SAT, math and science. Pay is $18 to $21 per hour. Semi-flexible schedule.
**Chegg Tutors – Chegg contracts tutors for several subjects. You must currently be enrolled or have been enrolled in a 4-year university. Pay is $20 per hour.
**Tutor.com (Review) – Tutor.com contracts tutors for several subjects to all ages. Must be a teacher, college student or expert in your field. Pay varies based on subject.
Driving & Delivery
**Uber – Uber is a rideshare company that allows you to pick-up people needing a ride, much like a taxi service would. With Uber you can choose to drive whenever you want. You must have a valid driver’s license, been licenses for at least one year (3 years if under age 23,) and have an eligible, four door car. Pay varies but you can get paid instantly.
**Uber Eats – With Uber Eats you can pick up food orders and deliver them. If you sign up for Uber Eats you’ll download the app. When someone places a food order in your area, you’ll receive a notification. You can then choose or whether you want to pick it up and deliver it to them. You must be at least 19, have a driver’s license with at least one years’ driving experience, have an eligible car, and proof of insurance.
**Lyft – Lyft is a rideshare company that allows you to work on demand as a driver. To qualify as a Lyft driver you must be at least 21 years old, have a four door car that meets their requirements, and pass several different background checks and inspections. Pay varies.
**DoorDash – DoorDash allows you to deliver food and other items from local merchants to customers. You must be at least 18 years old, have a vehicle, clean driving record, insurance, and a smartphone. Pay varies.
**Shipt – Shipt allows you to shop and deliver groceries from local stores to their customers. The schedule is completely flexible. To qualify you’ll need to be at least 18 years old, have a valid drivers license, have car insurance, a clean driving record, and a reliable car, year 1997 or newer. Average pay for experience shoppers is $22/hr.
**Instacart (Review) – Instacart offers an independent contractor position as a full-service shopper in which you can shop for and deliver groceries locally. To qualify you must be at least 18, have access to a vehicle, have a smartphone, and be able to lift up to 40lbs. Pay varies.
