TextBroker Review: Is Writing for this Site Worth It?

TextBroker is a site that connects writers with articles that need to be written.

Looking for some extra work? Find out if writing for this content mill is worth your time in our Textbroker review. Pay, jobs types, and more. #writing #freelancewriting

It’s often referred to as a “content mill” paying lower than average rates to writers. The one upside to writing for content mills is that there is always work available. So, if you’re a writer and don’t have any client work lined up but need to make money fast, you could turn to a content mill. (Keep in mind you’ll probably earn far less than you’re accustomed to.)

TextBroker works with thousands of clients a month from large corporations to small businesses, social media communities, and publishing houses. With over 100,000 content orders per month, Text Brokers needs writers to fill these orders.

Types of Jobs TextBroker Offers

Getting started is free and easy; simply register and submit a writing sample. Your sample will be reviewed for quality and you will be assigned an author rating. This rating allows you to select a project from Text Broker’s list of open orders. Once you have your rating, just complete your author profile and start selecting your work.

There are three types of orders with Text Broker:

Open Order – Orders are submitted by clients and you choose one that you’d like to work on. The availability of open orders you have access to depends on your author rating. Pay is by word and is determined by your quality rating, which you can improve at any time. If you’d prefer to have a flexible work schedule and only choose projects based on your availability and/or interest, this is a good option for you.

Direct Order – Clients are able to send projects directly to you. They send offers based on your author profile and quality ranking as well as your reviews. With this type of work, you are able to set your own price, regardless of your quality ranking. If the customer decides to hire you for the job, you are hired, no other qualifications are necessary. If there are specific clients you’d like to work with and receive orders from them on a regular basis, this is a good option for you.

Team Order – Some work is offered by team; you’ll be working with other authors to complete a project. You can join as many teams as you’d like. With this type of order, the client sets the price per word that they will pay. If there are specific clients or projects you’d like to write for, this is a good option for you.

How Much Does TextBroker Pay Writers?

TextBroker pays between .7 and 5 cents/word for open orders based on your ranking, a minimum of 1.78 cents/word for direct orders, and a minimum of 1.56 cents/word for team orders. All orders show the pay per word before you accept the order so you’ll know in advance how much you’ll be making.

In a nutshell, you’ll be paid between $3.50 and $25.00 for a 500 word article.

Payment is made via PayPal, so you’ll need a verified account. You will need to have a minimum of $10 in your Text Broker account to request a payout, but you can request payment once a week. You’ll be working as an independent contractor so you’ll be responsible for your own taxes.

If you’d like to get started with Text Broker, just visit their site and click “Free Author Registration” to sign up.

Alternatively, you could write for an academic writing service. Students need help writing their papers practically all year round. So you could write an essay for me by DoMyEssay or some other writing service. But keep in mind that academic writing is very different and more complicated than copywriting.

How to Start Your Own Freelance Writing Business

While writing for content mills can sometimes be convenient (and feel a whole lot less scary) going out on your own is the way to make a living writing.

If you want to make a good income as a writer, you need to start your own freelance business. Check out this blog post for instructions – even if you have no previous experience!
