Amazon is not only one of the top online shopping options out there, but they also have tons of flexible work from home job opportunities. Amazon is often hiring for a variety of different positions and many of them are remote jobs.
The great thing is some of the jobs don’t even require a ton of experience. Of course, having that option to work from home is big for some people and offers flexibility for employees who want to spend more time with their families.
Plus, Amazon tends to offer their employees some great benefits. Here are some popular remote jobs with Amazon.
Amazon Flex
Amazon Flex isn’t technically a work from home job, but it is one with flexible hours that you can do locally. Sign up for Amazon Flex by simply using your current Amazon login or create a new one.
Select the service area you’d like to work in. If they currently don’t need partners in your area you can join the waitlist and they will let you know when slots have opened up. Amazon.com orders are picked up from a delivery station and then delivered directly to customers home, drivers typically have a 3-6 hour delivery block. Delivering for Amazon restaurants and fresh are also options as well.
Both Android and iPhone devices can be used for Amazon Flex delivery services. If a driver decides to help deliver Amazon.com orders they have to own a four-door mid-sized sedan or large vehicle. Smaller cars and trucks do not qualify. In some regions employees can use a bicycle, but the bike must have a basket and the rider has to wear a helmet.
Customer Service Associate
Amazon always seems to be hiring some sort of customer service associates. They do have virtual positions available for this job. Amazon customer service agents are represented in 40 different countries speaking 16 different languages. Some of the main problems associates help customers tackle are finding a package; helping connect an Echo to a Fire TV, or getting an item returned.
Associates interact with customers in a variety of ways including phone, chat, email, and Alexa. Agents typically earn around $15 an hour and part-time employees work around 20-25 hours a week.
Technical Support
Amazon often also hires for technical support representatives. They will typically make this a bilingual positions and want someone who is fluent in two languages. Even though it’s a work from home position Amazon only wants someone who lives in one of 35 of the 50 states.
Some states that are eligible are Alabama, New York, and Wisconsin. Employees may not live in a zip code that is less than 50 miles from one of the physical Amazon customer service sites. There is a $1.50 language premium per hour that is added to the hourly wage of a bilingual employee. After 90 days of employment, an associate becomes eligible for healthcare coverage.
Employee Relations
Employee relations positions are another virtual job option through Amazon. Amazon loves its customers but also likes to focus on their employees. The employee relations team is a big reason for that.
At least four years of experience in employee or labor relations is required to be hired in as a Employee Relations manager.
Prime Now Team Lead
Prime Now helps customers get certain items within one hour of ordering it. Some of the items that are on the list that be delivered in an hour or less are coffee, gaming counsels, batteries, or sports equipment.
Each area manager is responsible for their very own small team. They make sure everything runs smooth and the customer’s orders are fulfilled. Previous leadership and customer service experience are just a few of the requirements for this opportunity.
Front End Engineers
Both senior and entry-level engineer positions are typically available with Amazon. Amazon engineers have a few different roles with the company. The need team members who are passionate about creating new apps and always have new fresh ideas for features and products.
Summary
Amazon is always expanding and trying to do the best for its customers. So roles on the team are always going to be there. Whether it’s a senior position or just starting out. Many positions are at an Amazon facility, but not all and some people can work virtually at home.
