So you already followed the steps on how to start a blog, and are now trying to figure out how to make money from it. There are of course many blog monetization methods out there, from selling products and services, to selling ad space, paid posts, and affiliate links. However, there are enough articles on these methods out there, but very few people talk about one of the best ways to really get your blog working for you, which I want to discuss in this post. I am convinced that the first step in making money is actually saving it. So how do you go about saving money to make money?
Save on Services and Expenses
This may seem like a pretty obvious claim, but it is nevertheless a good place to start. The more that you are able to do yourself, the more you will be able to save, like your site management and web design. You should also carefully select a good and reputable, but also reasonably priced internet service provider as well as web host. There are actually many affordable hosting services out there, so take a look here for a good recommendation. Obviously you need to be careful, because sometimes the old adage is true that you get what you pay for. Just be sure to do your homework first and pay attention to customer reviews.
Of course if your blog is a crafts or baking blog, where you are producing and displaying pictures of these things, cutting physical purchasing costs by taking a good inventory of what you already have, shopping at dollar stores, or using coupons can also go a long way. Here’s some advice from a DIY creative blogger on saving money on these types of expenses.
Save on Time and Effort
The majority of people are focused on increasing web traffic numbers in order to qualify for many of the monetization methods listed above, that they overlook easier solutions. Blogging will always be an undertaking that requires excessive discipline, drive, and determination; that being said, there’s a difference between working hard and working smart. Attracting a readership requires exceptional content, and maintaining that readership requires a consistent posting schedule.
So how do you achieve this in a way that saves time and effort? Guest posting between blogs! Of course this requires you to return the favor, but guest blogging has many advantages to it that make the reward higher than the return time invested. Aside from making some pretty important contacts within your niche or industry, guest blogging secures you high-quality and relevant content. Doing this connects your blog to those of whom are posting which in turn adds to the authority of your own blog (increasing search engine ranking and traffic), and it escalates your readership reach. This is because readers of the other blogs are now seeing content from the blogger they follow on your site, as well as your content on the other blogger’s site.
Ultimately, once you have the money saving angle under control and you aren’t unwittingly hemorrhaging money, you can then focus on the other ways to make money.

I’m not a single mom but a single income since my fiance is on disability. I was looking to getting into freelance blogging until I can get back into breeding my great Danes again because we are just doing so incredibly bad. So…it’s kind of an emergency and I’ve been doing some research and found your site, it being more helpful than most please entertain my ignorance on the subject so I can see if it’s right for me or not. I’d like to be doing both in the near future but I know Danes. I do not know freelance blogging, explain it me some if you get the time.
