I have been down for most of the week with what feels like the flu (although I think it could just be a sinus infection). I am finally feeling better and am glad the weekend is here! I got my girlies this weekend, but no big plans. Not really sure what we will do.
I loved the suggestions last week about taking kids to a pet store for free entertainment. My girls would absolutely love that, so we may make a trip to see all the cute little critters for sale.
Good Posts From the Week
I don’t really think I have a favorite post this week. I have been resting and trying to get over the flu or whatever type of sickness I have, so I haven’t been as active this week. However, I did still read plenty of great posts which you can check out below 😉

Freelance Jobs
Since I have been sick for the majority of the week I haven’t done any real job hunting. However, I did email one blogger that I admire and let him know I would be interested if he had any work suitable for me.
This is something that I definitely wouldn’t have done a year ago so I am happy that I am continuing to put myself out there. I also had another person find me through this blog and inquire about writing rates. It was kind of nice to have someone come to me instead of vice versa!
There seems to be quite a few jobs this week with promising pay. I am going to have to spend some time applying to these this weekend!

You have beautiful girls. Lol $200 a post at Content Marketing Blogger – must be some stiff competition.
Alexa says
Thank you Troy! Yes probably stiff competition but it would be awesome to get a writing job with those rates. I’ll get there eventually 😉

Taking your kids to a pet store sounds a little dangerous. What if they convince you to come home with an adorable hamster? Thanks for the mention!
Alexa says
I can confidently say that I will never bring home a hamster. They might try though 😉
femmefrugality says
Oh, shoot, girl! I hope you get all the way better soon! Our kids love the pet store. Dad takes them in there while I try on clothes next door. :p
Alexa says
Nice strategy 😉 We didn’t end up going but I am gonna keep it on my to do list!

Hope you feel better from the flu! There’s nothing worse than feeling sick during the summertime.
Those are some pretty great writing gigs you found. That’s very generous of you to post them here for others.
Thanks for mentioning my post this week!
