Get Your Kids Into Playing Team Sports

ID-100183145There’s a whole host of extra-curricular activities out there that you can sign your kids up for. Of course, parents are often guided by an interest that their child has – hence so many little girls who want to live out those princess fantasies choose to have ballet lessons. But sometimes, it’s also a good idea for the parents to do the choosing, as there are some fun activities that can really help develop children’s social skills too.

Soccer is a great example. No longer the preserve of boys, this is a game that any kid can play, and by joining a mini-soccer team your children will learn more than how to kick and dribble a ball. They’ll also learn the importance of team work, and how they need to co-operate with their team-mates in order for their team to score goals and win.

Soccer can be great for a child who is naturally shy as it encourages them to come out of their shell as they interact with other kids in the training sessions. It’s also good for them to deal with other grown-ups – like the coach – so that their experience of talking to adults isn’t limited to their parents and their school teacher.

Of course, with the FIFA World Cup coming up in a couple of months this year in Brazil, there will be a lot of hype about soccer in the media, so there’s no better time for your child to begin playing. If they’re learning to play a sport the whole world is talking about, they’ll be even more encouraged to do well.

And if you fancied a flutter on which country might win, Brazil is the current favourite to win, with Betfair pricing them at around 3/1, but if you wanted to back one of the other countries for a better value bet you’ll find all the odds at www.betfair.com. It all adds to the excitement of watching the World Cup games if you may get a win of your own in the process.

And, you never know, by introducing your kids to the game of soccer at a young age, you may be starting them off on a path to some World Cup glory of their own in years to come!

Extra curricular activities are currently popular nowadays. Here in our country, the most common one is volleyball. So I’m planning this summer to let my child enroll on summer sports which is volleyball.
