Today’s the big day! I have completed my e book and officially have it up on Amazon for sale.
One day I sat down to write a blog post and wrote for hours. I realized that I had a lot of ideas on starting a side business and an e book was a lot more fitting than a blog post.
My Reason Why
Over the past three years I have tried so many different ways of making money online. I feel that I am finally getting to where I want to be. I have read a countless number of blog posts and books about starting freelance and online businesses. I have also experimented with blogging, freelancing, and niche sites. The Single Moms Guide to Starting a Side Business is the product of my experiences.
I don’t always get everything right, but I persevere. I have gradually increased my online income and have gained momentum. I have always wanted to have a business of my own but now that I am a single mother I want it even more. I am in it for the long haul and I think that is the number one trait of anyone wanting to start a side business.
The Single Mom’s Guide to Starting a Side Business will help you pick out a viable low cost business idea, set up a marketing plan, discover ways to find your clients, create goals, and more. I have really tried to design this book to give anyone just starting out with freelance or online businesses the knowledge they need to succeed.
I have also included realistic income amounts as well as time frames for several types of side businesses.
I Need Your Help
I would like to get about 20 people to read my book and leave a review on Amazon. I have put a sign up form on my side bar. The first twenty people who sign up will receive a free copy of the book in a PDF document and my hope is that you will please leave a review for me on Amazon.
From all of my research Kindle Books that don’t have any reviews are so far down on the list that no one ever buys them. So, I would very much appreciate anyone who is willing to review my book for me. Once I get 20 people signed up I will take the form down. (If you ever need the favor returned you can count me in!)
You can sign up to get your free copy with the form on the side bar. —————>
I also want to thank Taynia from the Skinny Mermaid for designing the book cover. She was amazing to work with and I would recommend her to anyone in need of a book design or blog design.
I am excited to finally have my first e book published. I hope you enjoy it!

Congrats on the launch of the ebook. This book is something I am sure that a lot of people can use and I really like the name. I like how you stated you don’t always get things right but you keep on going. A lot of people quit and the sad part is that they could have been only a few month or days away from seeing that it would have worked. Good luck with the ebook!

Thanks, Thomas!

How was it to publish through Amazon? Did you hire editors, or did you work on the book entirely by yourself?
Alexa says
I worked on it by myself and then I had my mom and a friend look through and proof read it for me! *Thank You Christie* It was really easy to upload everything through Amazon.

Congrats Alexa 🙂 As the son who benefited wonderfully by being raised by a single mom, I can’t help but wonder, had my mother raised me in this era instead of the 1970’s, if things would have been less of a struggle for her given the technological and communicative advancements we all have now. Your blog, and now, book, will hopefully provide options for those single moms looking for additional income, no matter how slight. I wish you much success in spreading the word. All the best.
