The girls are upstairs pretending to be ballerinas while simultaneously watching the Grinch Who Stole Christmas.
Jamie is outside chopping wood.
I just finished sweeping my kitchen floors and am now whipping up a big batch of chili.
And I stand here with a sense of peace encompassing me. Ahhh……….this is how life is supposed to feel. The perfect kind of day.
Okay, you got me.
The whole day hasn’t been perfect. I’ve broken up a few fights, swept up saw dust several times, and have yelled at the girls upstairs jumping on the furniture. But in these few minutes life just feels good.
If every moment was this peaceful I just wouldn’t appreciate it as much.
And for that I’m grateful for the tough times as well as the good ones.
Grateful.
I’m grateful for the messes on my floor. They make me appreciate a clean floor so much more.
I’m grateful for my girls bickering. It makes me appreciate it when they get along.
I’m grateful for the days where the girls and I slept on a constantly deflating air mattress in my Dad’s spare bedroom. If not for those days I wouldn’t appreciate what I have now.
I’m grateful for broken relationships as they’ve made me realize how amazing a good relationship is.
I’m grateful for all the people who’ve knocked me down. They make me have so much more appreciation for the people who have helped pick me back up.
I am grateful for the life and family God has allowed me to have.
And I’m grateful for you who’s reading this right now. Without you this blog wouldn’t even exist. 🙂
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
