Flea Markets, Lawnmowers, and a KinderMint Giveaway

Good morning!

Over the next couple of weeks I’m going to give you a little sneak peek into my life, as well as reveal my spending for the week, and my goals for the week.

If it makes me do better with my spending and goals I might make it a regular Friday thing. 😉

Spending

I’ve been concentrating on partaking in super frugal weekend activities and have been doing pretty darn awesome.

On Saturday we planned a fun day at the flea market. The girls both went through their piggy banks and brought $7/piece with them to spend. They had a ton of fun comparing prices, counting out their money, and paying for their own things.

It took Kailyn an hour to make her first purchase!

Ava ended up spending her whole $7 and getting a package of ponytail holders ($1), a new Hello Kitty Cup ($2), and a play doctor set ($4). Kailyn ended up spending $6 getting a new ball ($2) and a play doctor set ($4). She put her remaining dollar back in her piggy bank.

 

After the flea market we went to a nearby park and spent a couple hours playing on the playground and watching the ducks. We also brought a cooler full of food with us and had a picnic.

On Sunday we kept it low key. We got the pool out of storage and the girls swam. And Jamie (boyfriend) let them take turns driving his lawnmower. (Don’t worry, he followed along side them.)

 

This coming weekend the girls will be at their dads so I’m sure it’ll be pretty boring around here. Maybe some yard sale hopping or something of the sort!

Here’s how my spending for the week was (Friday – Thursday):

Groceries: $156.38 (Yikes!!)

Gas: $25.00

Flea Market: $10 (I bought handmade wax cubes for my wax warmer)

Total Spending: $191.38

I also had $16.42 in Amazon Credits which I used to order some basic groceries and $21.75 in Thred Up credits. I was in need of a new bathing suit so I used those too.

Tracking Investment Savings

I also started tracking investment property savings. You can see the progress under the “Savings Tracker” tab.

I am going to tell you about my whole strategy, goals, etc. (and hopefully pictures) next week. I started to write it about today but this post was turning into a book 😉

Goals for the Week

• Finish organizing yard sale items, including going back through the house and reassessing my stuff
• Write a Guest Post for Another Blog
• Attend one of my nephew’s baseball games
• No eating out
