It’s Friday! I feel like I have finally got back on track this week. I completed the rest of my work from job #2 and I can now officially say I am down to one day job. This means it’s time for my three month freelancing experiment. I got a lot accomplished this week and things are looking up!
I recently finished Jon Acuff’s book Quitter: Closing the Gap Between Your Day Job & Your Dream Job and I loved it. It was the perfect book for my current work/life situation. Acuff gives powerful insight on easing into your dream job. Contrary to the books name he encourages you to keep your day job until you have enough income coming in from your dream job to quit.(Or else you could turn your dream job into a nightmare.)
If you are unsure of what your dream job is he challenges you to fill in the blanks. I am a ________, but I want to be a ___________. Then make a solid plan to get you where you need to be while learning from your day job. I give this book an A+
I recently bought a Kindle. I don’t have a smart phone and I thought a Kindle could potentially save me money in the long run on books. My 4 year old daughter has basically taken it over 🙂 She refers to it as “her Kindle.”
So I am in need of some book suggestions? Anyone read any great books lately?
We have already started Easter Egg hunting at our house. I have hid eggs at least 30 times over the past week! If the weather is good I will take the girls out this weekend and have an egg hunt in the yard. Other than that we will have a pretty laid back weekend.
I have a couple projects I have been working on and it took awhile but my online ventures are beginning to take a positive direction. And next week is womens money week so the personal finance blogoshpere will be filled with fantastic posts all meant to bring awareness to women’s finance.
I hope you have a fantastic weekend!!
